~Cox Family~
This is the biography of
James V. and Evelyn L. Cox.
While serving in the Civilian Conservation Corp (CCC) stationed in
Colorado, James and Evelyn met while attending dances where Evelyn’s
dad “Grandpa Boots” played the banjo in a band. James and Evelyn were
married in Vernal, UT., where they began their journey together. From
there James and Evelyn moved to Gainesville, TX and started their family.
James and Evelyn raised seven children while working together in café’s
that James either owned or managed. Later after James retired, he
continued to work in property management. Evelyn worked with the
school district for 25 years until her retirement. James and Evelyn loved to
cook and they shared that passion with everyone, whether it was with the
public or with their family. When having family outings, they would love to
put on a feast for their children and grandchildren.
During their life together they shared the love for family and friends, and
their home was open to all who entered. They would always have their
children and or grandchildren in their home at any given time. They
would enjoy spending their spare time together attending local races at the
dirt track, watching football and baseball on TV, but most of all with their
family.
James and Evelyn were married for 53 years until the passing of James in
1993. Evelyn went home to be with our Lord in July 2010. Reunited in
Heaven, James and Evelyn will to spend their eternal lives hand in hand
once again. Both will be misseddearly, but their legacy will live on.
